Individual Therapy

At Out of the Woods Counseling, we understand that life can be turbulent. Facing the ups and downs of each day can feel isolating - but you’re not alone. We offer a non-judgmental individual therapy space where you are valued, heard, and supported. Together, we will explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be keeping you from living the life you want. There will be an emphasis on unpacking difficult emotions, heal from past hurts, and discover new ways of thinking and being.

Whether you’re an adult navigating the complexity of depression/anxiety/trauma, or a teenager working through academic pressure/identity concerns/peer relationships, we will create a tailored therapeutic approach for your needs. At Out of the Woods Counseling, we utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experience (SE), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance Therapy, and Attachment and Psychodynamic therapeutic approaches in order to treat multiple mental health concerns.

Throughout the individual therapy process, you are encouraged to learn about yourself, build self-awareness, and foster self-compassion. This is a space dedicated to your well-being, offering you the tools and support to navigate life with a greater sense of clarity, resilience, and peace.

Couples and Family Therapy

Couples’ and family therapy offers a nurturing environment where relationships can heal, grow, and flourish. In these sessions, couples and families learn powerful tools that foster understanding and empathy, help resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships among members. The goal is to build the emotional bonds between partners, parents and children, or extended family members, encouraging connection and mutual support.

In couples’ and family therapy, partners and family members work collaboratively to address challenges such as communication issues, trust concerns, conflict resolution, and differing life goals. For couples, open and empathetic dialogue can rebuild intimacy, resolve past harm, and deepen their emotional connection. For families, we provide a space to explore family dynamics, learn communication and emotional processing skills, and improve familial links.

At Out of the Woods Counseling, we thoughtfully combine Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), with the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy and the Gottman Method to provide a comprehensive and effective therapeutic experience. Our aim is to create a warm and supportive environment where individuals and couples can explore their emotional landscapes and improve their relational dynamics. By integrating these innovative therapeutic approaches, we strive to help our clients navigate their challenges with greater insight and connection, ultimately fostering healthier relationships and emotional well-being.

Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) combines the powerful effects of ketamine, which is a dissociative anesthetic known for its unique properties, with the important elements of psychotherapy to help individuals find relief from various mental health challenges. This innovative approach aims to promote healing by creating a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a meaningful way.
